International Congress ASEVI20

Zamora (Spain). MAY 28/29, 2020
ATTENTION, ATTENDEEDS LIMITED!

1st INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS TO ROAD SAFETY AUDITORS

For more than 10 years, the Independent Associations of Road Safety Auditors (SoRSA, FASR and ASEVI) have been working together to improve this global pandemic, traffic accidents, which takes a life in the world every 24 seconds. We cannot condemn to death penalty people whose only crime is to commit a «human error». It is our obligation to collaborate in building «roads that SAVE LIVES». It is time to join forces and with our work, to contribute to the substantial and effective improvement of Road Safety.

Fco. Javier LOpez Delgado | President ASEVI

PRESENTATION

According to United Nations data, road traffic accidents currently rank ninth among the leading causes of death worldwide, resulting in the annual loss of more than 1.2 million lives and causing severe injury to nearly 50 million of people a year around the world. Every 24 seconds a person dies from traffic accidents. The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed the period 2011- 2020 «Decade of Action for Road Safety», with the overall objective of stabilizing and subsequently reducing the expected numbers of fatalities in road traffic accidents around the world, increasing activities at the national, regional and global levels.

The Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011 – 2020 encourages Member States to carry out activities through the implementation of 5 pillars:

Pillar 1: Road Safety Management.
Pillar 2: Safer Roads and Mobility.
Pillar 3: Safer Vehicles.
Pillar 4: Safer Road Users.
Pillar 5: Post-Crash Response.

It is in the Second Pillar where more work is needed and where the next decade 2020-2030 will make more effort striving for the overall improvement of Road Safety. We have no doubt that one of the fundamental tools for improving Road Safety in this Second Pillar is to carry out Road Safety Audits (in all phases of Design, Construction and Exploitation of Roads), independently if these are Highways, Trunk Roads, Conventional Roads, Interurban Roads or Urban Roads. We are fully undertaking that in order to significantly reduce Traffic Accidents, Road Safety Audits (RSAs) is one of the best tools for improving Road Safety in Infrastructures.

In addition, for these RSAs to be effective, the Auditors must be: TRAINED, EXPERTS, INDEPENDENTS. To this end, we have organised the 1st INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF ROAD SAFETY AUDITORS, to discuss, share experiences, and provide the Road Authorities a clear definition of Road Safety Auditors and Road Safety Audits.

OBJECTIVE

ROAD THAT SAVE LIVES

#ASEVI20 seeks to become a reference space on specific topics for Road Safety Auditors with the interest of the Ibero-American community, joining experiences with the Anglo-Saxon world. Therefore, it looks for:

CREATE NETWORKING
